Eh, people shouldn't make a clan if they don't have intentions of seeing it through. I constantly see a lot of people who make clans only to say, "Hey look, I made a clan all on my own!" It doesn't bug me too much, but it is definitely becoming a problem. People need to realize the it takes a lot of hard work and perseverance to make a successful clan.
Doesn't the TC used to make clans sink? I mean, wouldn't the rapid growth of clans recently be helping the tori-economy then?

Not necessarily. A lot of new clans die before they can even apply to be official. So basically it because a bunch of spam that accomplished nothing.

You don't think a bad leader can lead a clan to being official? Though it entirely depends on what you define as a 'good leader' I disagree.

Now, the recent growth of clans is not so much a bad thing, it's sinking TC and it makes having a successful clan feel so much more special. However, I wouldn't be entirely against stricter clan rules and or higher fees.

This thread is basically the same as what I made the other day. Maybe people will start to realise this is an actual issue, and needs to be fixed. Too many nooby clans now.
We're all going to Hell, we may as well go out in style
Death is a promise, and your life is a fucking lie

A long time ago joining a clan use to be a badge of honor, hard work & dedication to the game... now it's just "I'm bored I'm gonna make a clan"

When I joined there was like 7 clans, now there's like.. 150+ clans?

A limit needs to be put in place on clans that works with the population of the community.
For deciding if a clan should become Official or not I recommend the old voting process that was used back in 08.

You see I had this experience with [Plasma]. It was dead because the leader(Mojo) and the co-leader(PiePwn, who's still around) decided to farm. They were caught in the act and the clan went down the crapper.
Today, the clan leaders of new members should not be too careless.
And shouldn't spam their page with meaningless posts and whatnot. I'm not saying that every single new clan leaders like this, as it is a "once in a lifetme" moment.

Desperately trying to get back into TB...

It's absolutely absurd in my eyes and it cripples the community more than anything. A clan should be a place where a person can grow, learn and feel like part of a community nothing less than what tripstone said. However now with a minimum one new clan per week these new players aren't learning a thing, just a hangout place to make dick jokes. This hurts older, official and good clans because it takes away from the possible member pool in the process. On top of that since all it takes to get into these new clans is '' I want to join '' the actually good clans get spammed with applications like this, simply because it works in most other clans nowadays thanks to these dime a dozen clans.

If I had to propose any solution it would be to bring bleu back or something similar to teach new members how to apply/be loyal/a good clan member. Or at the least make a belt requirment for starting a clan maybe 5th dan.
