Secret Santa 2024
gotta love socialists, but with the current system still not working, I think a change in pace would be good, BUT NOT TO THE EXTREME STATED.

I come from a middle class family and with an ever growing lower class, things might need to be looked at. But as far giving everyone equal items no matter what I do to get them? No that's stupid as fuck and I honestly never understood how people think this way......

As for the people in the CONTINENT of Africa, I feel sorry for them I really do, but what the fuck can I do? I have to think about myself first before I can think about others. Because what good am I to others if I'm dead or dying?
But in all reality... I think I might be insane...
But really the question is why do people become poor?

Because they failed in education or were lazy (like Faint said). If rich people were to give there money away because they have too much is just crazy that is punishing them for being successful.

Power to the Hardworking!

Well, I think, in nice words, people that are starving are bullshit. No offense to them if they live in a 3rd world country, but places like china and America, or even Canada is plane bullshit. There are literally a billion ways to make money and most of their time is spent either milking off the governments welfare or being lazy. (Once again no offense to the people that need the welfare and work hard to find a job, just the majority do it.) Why should I give my money away to the people that are starving when I am working hard on my job and trying to make money so I can feed myself and in the future, feed my children. Now why would I do that for people that don't want to get up and find a job. If a 16-17 year old kid can find a job, then surely enough they can find a job. Sure they might not have the smarts, but jobs are looking for somebody that can work full time, and I am into my Junior year of highschool and can't even work full time due to school, they would rather hire somebody that can, such as somebody that doesn't do anything at all. So back on the subject, no, money should not be taken away from people that work hard for it. Hell, I don't even think taxes should be raised for the people that make a lot of money. My brother in law gets 1000 dollars taken out of his paycheck due to the government taking out money, it is total bullshit. You know how much he can do with that extra 1000 dollars? Possibly pay off the house faster, pay off the car payment. Fuck he can waste that money or spend it on food for my sister and him and their future kid. Life moves on for people, and it should be left as Survival of the Fittest

The average CEO in America earns in a year over 200 times the amount of money the average working class citizen in America earns in a year. Are you honestly going to tell me that they put 200 times more effort into work, or are 200 times more productive? Are you going to tell me the years of predatory tactics used by companies, stealing money away from the lower class, justifies their incomes because that's somehow beneficial to the greater good of society? That running a company into the ground to run away with a quick buck is somehow helping America? That firing as many workers as possible to "minimize expenses" while issuing a raise to top executives creates jobs and promotes growth in the economy? As a comparison, let's point to Japan. The ratio between average CEO earnings and workers is 16:1 in Japan. The United States has an over 10 times greater gap in pay between CEOs and workers compared to Japan.

There's a really stupid myth in America that the hard working will be rewarded and the lazy or unqualified will get their just deserts. If you actually look at the numbers, America has the largest class divide among every developed nation, and behind a few (I use few very euphemistically here) third-world countries as well. If you're born into the upper class in America, you are statistically going to stay there no matter what. In a perfect society, ever person from every background has an equal chance at making it big. This means that 1 out of every 5 people from the bottom 20% of society will be in the top 20% at the end of their life. This is NOT what happens in America. In actuality, 42% of all Americans born into the bottom 20% of America, will stay in the bottom 20%. Almost 60% of those born into the bottom 20% will be, at best, in the bottom 40% by the end of their life.

A measurement of the level of inequality in America can be found within the Gini coefficient. Basically, if the bottom 10% earns 10% of the nation's income, the 20% earns 20% etc. etc., then you have a perfect equality score of 0. If all the income went to one person, you would have a perfect inequality score of 1. The United States had a Gini coefficient of .45 in 2007. This is higher than any other developed country in the world, and is borderline with dysfunctional countries in Africa with scores over .5. Some of the most equal nations on the planet have a .3 or lower coefficient. You had a greater chance at equality with wealth in Bosnia (.362), Burkina Faso (.40), Cambodia (.379), Afghanistan (.280), Azerbaijan (.337), Egypt (.31), Ethiopia (.30), Greece (.34), Iran (.380), Iraq (.309), Pakistan (.30), The Philippines (.430), Russia (.401), Thailand (.4) or Uganda (.44). To name just a few.

So bull fucking horseshit that you reap what you sow, or power to those who work. Unless you're rich in America, your odds of becoming rich in America is as close to zero right now as it ever will be in your miserable little life. The income inequality in America is probably beyond Victorian era class division, and it's pretty much going to stay there until Americans wake up and smell the dogshit they've been drinking for coffee and demand change.

I don't think its the right idea to limit rich peoples money (or people who has money) just to feed those starving people. They work for it, they deserve it.

Top tier income is seen as a goal to work towards. Would you want to climb to the top of your field if you would just be doing more work for the same pay?
Commercialism is competitive, if the prize at the top was small then there would b less incentive to fight your way up the ladder.

Not saying I agree, but competition has always fueled innovation.

Thank you Orcale, I lost some sleep over this thread last night, I was about to lose faith in humanity.

You people need to start doubting and build a sense of critiscism, probably watch less TV and read more. Hell, you have the internet and access to endless culture & informations, you shouldn't be allowed to say "Poor people are poor because they'r lazy ass crack smoking bums who chose to be unhappy", that's just plainly stupid.
Any man has a natural wish to be happy; the quest for bliss is a human condition afterall. But maybe it doesn't work the way you actually understand it (being a rich selfish douchebag with a pool and a big car).

Start asking yourselves questions, like why do we live in society? where does money come from? [you can ask this one to google] if being poor is a choice, why some countries like Greece are "getting poor" all at once? And other simple stuffs to begin with. I can assure you'll probably be glad you asked yourselves those questions later.

As for people wondering stuffs about communism. Politics ain't a bi-lateral concept, we have endless possibilities when it comes to taking decisions about how to rule society, not making it capitalism doesn't make it communism.
Plus, communism is an erroneous system in a world which works on a capitalist basis, it's like trying to spread margarine on butter : there's no fucking point.

And the "hardworking" concept is bullcrap. From which point of view do you considere a work harder than another ?
Nurses earn shit, tho I find that job way more difficult than sitting behind a desk playing with numbers.

Should there be a limite of how much money some one can have?

If there are millions of people starving on one side of the planet, it could not be that bad if people who get paid a certainly large amount of money would have to donate some money to the poor, but on the other hand in my opinion, there is nothing wrong with getting paid like 10 million dollars a year. Isnt it just a question of what you do with there money?

What do you think?

Well, yes! It's kind of supposed to be like this in certain countries, or at least big fortunes pay like XX% (66% in France) tax. but there will always be ways to cheat, tax havens, frauds etc... real big fortunes generally declare only a part of their incomes or total wealth.
I won't write pages of phylosophical point of view cause I already did this in that thread called "Impact of currency", but basically our mind and conception of the world shapes themselves depending on the environnement we're growing in.
Means our perception has been shapped by years of capitalism, generation after generation until it explodes (soon... soon.). Our behaviour, lack of empathy toward the people in need and exacerbate subjectivisme, which make rich people holding money like greedy fucks while poor people are dying, is a result of the society we're living in. It's not a "human trait" in itself, those kind of pre-made ideas are dangerous bullshit.

The "easy" way would be to supress money, no more question asked ;p [fight club]
Or we could change the nature of money, deciding that money can only be used for trivial reasons - and food, water, shelter, transportation would be free rights.
Or making different moneys
Or we could pay with fucking kisses.
Possibilities are endless but people's minds are frozen, rigid... blocked on an absurd life-time consuming system.

We have one short life, on 70 years we spend approximatively 25 years sleeping, and a huge part of the rest of the time working jobs we don't like in order to keep living the same life, offered the impression of choice and freedom when you chose the color of your sofa or chose which puppet to elect a few years at the head of X country.
We're fuckin slaves, and some of you who claim being "hardworking" people seem to be proud of that enslavement situation.
That makes me sad.

I could not agree more deprav, and in those countries were rich people do pay more taxes the money would end up in the government and who knows on what what is spent on.

@Beta, people in many African nations do not have that much big of an opportunity to make money, if the whole country is poor how are you gona sell something and live of that?
The government can not help them ether or does not want to help them, since most are selfish (We are talking about african nations here).
How are you gonna make the money if the conditions you live in are not right? Its not Bullshit.
You may not have time to work because of school but kids in African don’t go to school because its ether to far to walk to (if they live in a the village) of because their parents want them to work at home, once they are at home they WORK and are not lazy fucks like we are in front of our computers. Then the family sells what ever they worked for and only get enough money to feed them selves. Sometimes that is not even enough and thats when they starve. They starve do you even know what that means?
-----
Your saying that hunrgy people would just sit down on there asses and not do nothing, because i think they would do anything it takes to get themselves something to eat and some money.

Thank you shrimp, my faith in humanity took a few points back. ;p

Tho, about what you said to Beta I think you missread the beginning (I did as well), he said "Well, I think, in nice words, people that are starving are bullshit. No offense to them if they live in a 3rd world country". Which doesn't make much more sense but still.

The whole "finding a job is easy" is bullcrap, of course there will always be work and things to do, since there always be tasks to accomplish that's for sure. What there is not, is salaries, or people willing to give salaries. People like to sit on their money and show how much of dickbags they are.
In france you can study for 7 long years after your high school graduation, and still be paid the minimum wage for years - or even never find a job in what you studied, like fuckin ingeeners changing sheets in hotels, if you're lucky enough. Where the fuck is that work your were talking about now ?
