Ok, I'm gonna say some stuff about the religion crap. What makes us believe in God and such things? Well, as that other guy said, it's in our dna. Also, we need a religion to guide us. It gives us hope when we're in a bad situation. The thing about the same sex marriage, and the pork thing is just some bull shit in religion. The warfare also links to some religions. Look below about the crusaders.

why do we go as far as to kill ourselves and others in the name of our lord, if we have one?

Well, have you heard of crusaders that killed thousands of men "in the name of god?" Actually, one commander thought that this was wrong and in one crusade, ordered his men not to kill anymore of the people in the city they were invading. He left for a couple of minutes and come back seeing that his men killed the remaining people. God never stated that we should kill people that do not believe in our religion. Although, he did encourage his followers to change their thoughts about their religion.

I might check that book ! Not the first time I come accross this title

Also yeah, this is basically what I believe too; as a Unitarian Universalist I believe in some sort of cosmic consciousness.

I mentioned this in my post; basically world leaders used "god" as a way to get armies of infidels to attack the holy land.

Also, I think this thread should probably be closed soon, because threads like these usually end with atheism vs Christianity, and there is no discussion there, just two groups of closed-minded people arguing over god (and creationists refuse to be wrong about their beliefs even when proven wrong, so it won't end).

imo we should get out as many intelligent and enlightened posts as possible before the shitstorm happens.

But it's okay for God to kill?

Well, some people will argue that it's okay because he created us. It's just like in your little games like Pocket God where you raise your tribe and punish them for fun or if they do something wrong. He gives and takes away lives. Just stating this crap. I believe in God. I don't really have a main religion. I'm not an atheist either.

The christian god is the ultimate apex predator. Doesn't need petty morals to justify his actions.
If you are no christian he is anything you want him to be.
I have a rather badass one.

I addressed reasons why the bible contradicts itself, but then my browser crashed, and now I'm pissed.

@ anyone who believes in Christianity/creationism/god of the bible:

Here's a few links that discredit and expose Christianity, some early pre-humans, early hominids, and one of many alleged "missing links" between ancient apes and early humans.

If you want to believe in a type of omniscient universal consciousness that caused the big bang and set the laws of the universe that's fine, but all of this "we matter, god is watching us" shit needs to end.

Because there isn't anything else to discuss on human differences; physical differences come from modern man being a mutt-species; and culture, human nature, and environment influencing individual personality. (e.g if we all looked the same and lived in a white room, there would not be many diverse personalities).
