<MrGarry> Hai there
<Tonakai> hello
<MrGarry> Do you have any spare time to waste on useless crap? :D
<Tonakai> I've got lots
<Tonakai> and I'm spending that time to useless craps
<Tonakai> so more crap to a pile of crap is nothing
<MrGarry> Okay, let's start this, shall we?
<MrGarry> Tell us some general information about Tonakai
<MrGarry> eg. where do you live, what's your actual name, etc etc
<Tonakai> Well, my first name is Jussi. I refuse to tell my whole name 'cause I'm too easy to find from Facebook
<Tonakai> Unique name etc.
<MrGarry> Right. Where are you from?
<Tonakai> I live in Finland, I'm 19 years old, I study to become a media engineer in a college
<Tonakai> Not too interested in that subject, though.
<MrGarry> Media engineer? Sounds interesting!
<MrGarry> Oh why are you doing it then?
<Tonakai> dunno :p
<MrGarry> hehe, fair enough.
<Tonakai> Dunno what to do, been a bit lost lately.
<Tonakai> Wondering what to do.
<Tonakai> But it'll come to me soon enough.
<MrGarry> I hope it will!
<MrGarry> Well, since when do you play Toribash?
<MrGarry> and how did you actually find out about the game?
<Tonakai> It was around June 2007, but I registered on the forums July 2007
<Tonakai> I was playing Ragdoll Masters once, and decided to go check out their forums
<Tonakai> There was this guy called Shook posting gif animations about some ragdolls doing real fancy moves.
<Tonakai> He linked to the game, I checked it out
<Tonakai> and well, what do you know, that was Toribash.
<Tonakai> And then I got addicted :p
<Tonakai> and here I am.
<MrGarry> I see. When and how did you become a staff member?
<MrGarry> What was your first position as a stuff member?
<Tonakai> First time I became a staff member in the beginning of 2008. An early GameKeeper. I was hosting forum events casually, and people liked 'em
<Tonakai> Then a person called Shogan PM'd me about getting the GameKeeper powers
<Tonakai> I was all like "woah what the fuck"
<MrGarry> Haha, that might've been my reaction as well
<Tonakai> Well, I'm gonna be short about everything else; After that I got ToriAgent, then became a GameKeeper again, then got SMod for a while, quit it, became a GM, those that exist now
<Tonakai> And after that I got SMod again.
<Tonakai> and that's where I am now.
<MrGarry> What was your most enjoyable position as a stuff member?
<Tonakai> Well I suppose it's SMod 'cause I have POWERRR
<Tonakai> lol
<Tonakai> And I can keep doing GM stuff, hosting tournaments etc. which I really love
<MrGarry> hehe, I see. Was there a point in your life when you simply wanted to quit Toribash? Or you were in love all the way to 2013?
<Tonakai> There's been a lot of situations like that. You remember how I said my age is 19? That means I started Toribash when I was 13, and due to being an edgy teen I wanted attention :p
<Tonakai> So I did make one or two of those quitting threads.
<Tonakai> but well, as many people know they always come back
<Tonakai> and so did I
<Tonakai> Well, I did simply get bored of Toribash at times and left for a while
<Tonakai> But I'm still here.
<Tonakai> don't plan on leaving right now.
<MrGarry> Hehe, classic. Well, it turns out you were a staff member throughout your whole "Toribash career".
<MrGarry> Did you ever want to become a "normal" player? With no powers, etc
<Tonakai> I did, and I did become a normal member :p
<Tonakai> 'cause you know, that + in front of your name in-game is hella cool
<MrGarry> Ye ye, go on, tell me more about that
<Tonakai> eh uh
<Tonakai> Well there isn't much to tell about
<Tonakai> It was one of those moments when I simply got bored of Toribash
<Tonakai> And I thought I'd just be a nuisance if I kept being a staff so I told the leader that I'm leaving
<MrGarry> Did you get fired from your position or it was your choice to become a normal member?
<Tonakai> My choice.
<MrGarry> Cool. A highlight from your toribash career?
<Tonakai> Can't say what's totally the best moment in my Toribash career but the most recent nice thing that happened was yesterday
<Tonakai> I was hosting four tournaments in a row, they all had different mods but they had reactiontime 7 seconds
<Tonakai> First two tournaments went like normal but then someone decided to go betting in the third one
<Tonakai> Then the bets just grew higher and higher and there was 20k bets flying around
<Tonakai> It was hilarious 'cause I couldn't keep log of who pings
<Tonakai> There was just so many bets
<Tonakai> And the matches were so fast I didn't have time to watch them
<MrGarry> I was there, remember those people betting 30k+ onn Erth, etc
<Tonakai> Yeah
<Tonakai> It was really amazing
<MrGarry> Yep, that was fun haha
<Tonakai> It might've been my worst tournament 'cause I didn't really watch what was happening etc. but I really loved it anyways :D
<MrGarry> Last question - what are your views on Russian community in Toribash? Most 'serious' scammers and hackers are Russians as far as I know. Should've been quite a pain getting rid of them?
<Tonakai> Well, it's true that there are many Russians who make themselves known as scammers, hackers, whatever there are
<Tonakai> But I have always really liked the Russian community either way
<Tonakai> They tend to do real cool stuff at times.
<Tonakai> And there's some real cool Russians, too
<Tonakai> It's like they say, not everyone in Russia are scammers and hackers :p
<Tonakai> don't generalize.
<Tonakai> But it IS true that many of them HAVE been scammers and hackers.
<Tonakai> can't avoid that issue no matter how hard you try to talk with flowers.
<MrGarry> Did you get to investigate any of those 'big' cases?
<Tonakai> Not really :p
<Tonakai> I was never really that active when all that big stuff happened.
<Tonakai> Also, one funny thing about Vladcasl
<MrGarry> Go on
<Tonakai> I actually played with him before he decided to go all hack 'n blast
<Tonakai> He was a real nice person.
<Tonakai> But oh well.
<MrGarry> Oh really? That's cool! So, he used to be a friend of yours, right?
<Tonakai> Dunno if you can call it a friend, but we did play at times ;o
<Tonakai> and I saw that he was a nice person.
<Tonakai> ...that's it :p
<MrGarry> You know what? I lied about 'last' question - here goes the last one :D
<Tonakai> terrible horrible liar
<Tonakai> I have business of being a useless shit!
<MrGarry> You played Toribash since mid-2007. So, you've played for about 6 years now. Did the community change much? If so, did it get better or worse?
<MrGarry> What sort of Toribash community did you like more?
<Tonakai> Whenever I check the List of all staff list and see the old names I get really nostalgic
<Tonakai> Sure that time was something really awesome.
<Tonakai> I suppose it was the better one
<Tonakai> 2007 - 2008 was the best
<Tonakai> But not like this time is bad.
<Tonakai> I can still host some real nice things like the tournaments yesterday :p
<Tonakai> 2007 - 2008 was better, but this time ain't bad, either
<Tonakai> ...just gotta do something about all the hacking yadda yadda.
<MrGarry> True that. Well, any last words you want to pass on to readers?
<Tonakai> Well, I've recently seen people complain about lack of enthusiasm
<Tonakai> or something
<Tonakai> If you want others to be enthusiastic YOU YOURSELF gotta be enthusiastic, too!
<Tonakai> Don't just complain, DO SOMETHING
<Tonakai> Get back to work!
<Tonakai> thank you
<MrGarry> No, thank you for the interview! It was a great one. Check the 'News' section of forums and you will see it there quite soon... I hope :D
<Tonakai> uh oh
<Tonakai> I forgot you'll be posting this
<Tonakai> now I'm all nervous
<Tonakai> oh shit oh god
<Tonakai> hopefully I didn't say anything embarrassing
<MrGarry> All good. We would take you the way you are haha
<MrGarry> Okay, bai bai. Hopefully, I will see you posting those tourneys more often - great fun!
<MrGarry> o7
<Tonakai> cya
