I feel sorry for you. The first time I got Half-Life 2, I didn't have the internet, so, as I suspected (I checked the minimal system requirements on the back), it didn't work. At first, I was pretty sad, but luckily for me, my dad decided he put the internet on my computer by placing my computer out in the living room to get the internet from the internet computer. Eventually, we moved it back. Due to the fact that HL2 got registered for use on Steam while my computer had the internet, Steam was able to run in offline mode so I didn't need the internet to run HL2. But then eventually, I got the internet in my own room. At least one of us is happy!

Basically, tertywerty, you only need to put the internet on your computer once, just to register HL2, and then you can play it offline. Ask to do the same thing I did.

well i cant do that because my version of windows is bootlegged so if i put it on the internet it would completly shut down my computer and eraes evorything from it and i could get arrested. the reason why its bootlegged was becase we got a virus and it completly destroyed the computer and we didnt have enouph money to buy a new version so we asked i guy to copy the cd for us.

Bootlegged sounds like a familiar word. What does it mean again?
