I'd call "shmuppy" bosses bosses with attack patterns, events and timing, not just loads of guns placed on a spinny thing, etc. the one in my try file is a pretty poor example, but meh.
it has:
two attack modes, sequenced to "arm" movements (in the spread shot mode, the small laser is actually shielding the core, but you can shoot it out of the way)
melee attacks with temporary weapon activation
4 weapons unlocked due to damage
1 "missile"
edit: attached third boss, I'll probably edit it later for the big try file I'll make.
its supposed to be fought at rank 100 using only the main shot weapon
