My Wishlist for Hampa ...
since there is so many Santa imposters out there theese days, i dont trust that guy no more :3

1. a new damage/points-system! because the momentary one just doesnt feel right for a fighting game. i dont understand the underlaying code structures but i think a short damage timeout after a clean hit could fix this ridiculous high points gained by just rubbing hands and feet on your oponent
2. -.- ...a dojo for wushu ....its a fighting game not freeroaming GTAWhiteout. nuff said
3. a new toribash! dont get me wrong, i still think that toribash is one of the best game concepts that are out there and i tryed quiet a few in my gamingcareere wich is now more than 20years ^^

i feel like that is time for changes and since you are going with this steam/greenlight stuff and all that advertising to atract more players i think it would be a good idea to add some new stuff like it was done with the wii version of tb for example(2 different joint speeds) this realy made a big differnence in movement options.
also, while we start tb from scrach, we could add things like:
4. cloths (could be a new tc source for nabi =P).
5.more realistic weapons/weapon-mods. maybe achievable or buyable ones or choosable before match starts (stuff like swords,staffs, baseballbat,leadpipe^^ twinsabres, nunchuks and if the coders feel fancy enough i could imagine even guns)
6. instead of 1000 different mods there could be stages like in good old beatemups(maybe with deathtraps and such for stuff similar to finishingmoves in MK or even breakable enviroment)
7. instead of pointsdisplay an energybar would ad to the thrill of a battle and sometimes shorten matches a bit. also the bar could be related to qi/ki achived or even the belt, like say the higher the belt the more energy.....yaya i know that this would seem unfair in public rooms but then again higher belts could have their intense matches amongst themselfes while lower belts would learn faster ^^
8. combos wich decrease the new energybar slightly higher with every (clean) hit within a given period of frames, like maybe add 10% per next hit to the damage calculation or something like that(some fancy onscreen bling bling particles related to the combo so it gets harder to go on because the attackers sight on his tori decreases with every next combohit)
9. an openingsequence for battles that are edited by each player himselfe like all other fighting games have for each character(50-100 frames)
10. along with the sequence an openingstance (some dude wrote it somewhere else) could be limited by mod/room management if it comest to official/public matches with close engage distance no need for the ones with more distance, for its opener-alike and opener dont guarantee a win. or the sequence and the stance could be combined like do sequence for walk in (or whatever) and speed at the end needs to be 0 and this makes for the stance
11. customisable toris. for example shorter = quicker,higher = stronger with more mass but slower , fater = more endurance, thinner = less weight (higher jumping)
could be related to account or adjusted by sliders.
12. also, i support snakes with the grab-stuff realy never liked the glueish hands mods id prefere the grabbing as grabbing in reallife but as it is with the pointssystem grabbing someone ends one up with less points than the grabbed one or maybe only inside of the hands could grab could be a short therm solution.

........ well i could go on and on and on with what would/could be possible with a new tb. but im hungry now =P
anyhow on my part i would gladly give up my items, qi, tc (lol wich i dont have) to start from scrach again with a newer tb wich feels more arcade-like . how about you guys ?

I agree with you, those changes do sound fun, for some game. But they would require far more work than just talking them out, and they would change a LOT that nabi has worked to create so far.
Yes, "popular" fighting games have alot of extra glitz and style worked into their choreography. But that's to compensate for any sort of background open physics engine computing going on. Rather, Toribash has a game engine that is crunching math from the start of your fight, to the finish, and unfortunately until we all have supercomputers, flashy visuals will have to wait to go alongside (as if it doesnt look good on max settings already).
Toribash is about physics, and the player's interactions with them based upon their skills. That in itself makes many computers beg for mercy, and Hampa is always trying to implement lagfixes.
Yes, the stuff sounds cool, but cool, flashy stuff and physics sandbox-realism don't really come together without making computers pay a heavy price. Hampa has been creating an amazing game that is playable on the average computer, and I really wouldn't want him to throw that all away for a leap of faith.

3.agreed, but why not alter it since its 2013?
4. /opt cloth(hair) 0 ....fixed... still cool for vids and replays
5. am allready, but to play with weapons the easy way when you feel like for the day would be cool too, wouldnt it !?
6.there is an /atmo tool as well but interaction with something ingame is cool for 2013 as well, isnt it?

@eRekd. neither me would like to see it. in fact id give up on hd shader stuff and all that needless things to have a great physics game playable with guys from all over the world, in a competitive, even more dynamic manner. hell id play on 480x640 if it was fluid

11. Atmospheres are just mesh so you can't touch them. If you're talking about turning your Tori into one giant mesh so that it can look small or tall, you'll make this look really unrealistic. Also, MODS.

Literally the only thing I can agree partially with is the points system could use some work. Not what you suggested though. Everything else not supported, everyone else gave plenty of good reasons. Also don't call yourself a hardcore gamer. God that's annoying
the pointsystem was my main reason for this thread because its realy odd to get 85k points from tapping ukes head . but im allways open for new stuff and hey , why not alter the game, since it has a pretty good base ... also been fooling arround with the modmaker lately, after that physics in tb seem even stranger than before....

actually good idea, we've been asking for this all for quite awhile.

3. a new toribash!

new separated client to add more features without being bound to borkked engine and low-end pc requirements. tried to suggest it for e-sport edition.

actually good idea, and may bring alot of fun without sacrificing much skill.

it's a bit too drastic imo, but talking a bout energy bar...

energy bar instead of turn frame limiter will be a great idea, but as we all know the game is abandoned by developers so, whats the point to discuss game changing features if we can't get the simpleist bug fixes for ages.

can explain the idea further but as i stated before it's mostly pointless in current situation

with an option to skip it - sounds like a neat bit

err... good idea to make the game more "traditional" and may bring quite alot fresh blood, but it's against the core concept of tb.
in other words, will be great but as separated version of tb

breakable ball axis grab should have been implemented ages ago if not from beginning of developenent, may clarify what and what in depth if anybody interested.

overall a new fresh tb will be a good idea. but again, you need developers who will actually do shit, since no matter how much we will dream, nothing will change here anyway.
Health bar would be awesome, that actually completely solves the problem with running in some striking mods - matchframes would be unlimited - you fight to the death/dq - this has my full support!

The idea of beat 'em up single player is very interesting - if done right it can be great.

Snake : So what would be the criteria to break the grab?
