Currently the Standalone versions, especially the older ones (most recent one is 4.8), tend to crash more due to the increase in servers.

So for now, I suggest either updating your client by downloading Standalone 4.8 or gettin steam and making an account. Either should be fine.
I'm a game developer for other games.

Standalone was updated several days ago, it doesn't crash anymore. Update Toribash to a newer build from the website or get a Steam version.
