hawkesnightmare, if the loan isn't paid back in a reasonable time a ban could be placed also maybe i could be made that u cant sell things bout with loaned tc and items bought with loaned tc can be reposed, and restock the shop. (the last bit is just a suggestion)

And what if someone were to create an account, take out a loan, sell the TC for money, and then quit? It wouldn't be hard to borrow a friend's device and do this with no intention of ever repaying the loan. Then the device is essentially locked out, Toribash is out 100k or so, and that person just made fifteen bucks. This process could be repeated innumerable times, and they just keep making money. Alternate PayPal accounts are easily made as well, assuming the scammer has enough credit/debit cards.

I don't know if it would be possible to set up the loan in a way that prevents this, and it seems stupid to do that, in the event of some transaction that requires real money.

This doesn't seem like a very good idea, since the general idea of a loan is so that someone can buy something with money they don't quite have yet, and since most homes and cars are bought with loan money, and are later sold.

Items and Tc bought with a loan cant be sold until said loan is paid off and loaned tc can be different than regular tc that way say somebody takes a loan buys a flame the flame cant be sold until loan is paid off. then lets say that they go inactive for say 1 year the flame will be reposed by the market and sold at is exact value. exploitation foiled and economy boosted! (I think)

What if the person wants to sell the flame or item or art so that they can pay back the loan? A lot of people who flip houses get started on loans and then sell the house to pay back the loan.

Banks already exist... I remember seeing Essence or some clan like that loaning out TC. Every week 10% interest. You have to be an account with history or assets (not a new one)... even gotta send a valuable item for insurance, iirc. Do your research before you poke holes in something...

Banks in real life wouldn't work if they loaned out a million to a random, anonymous guy... why would you think TB banks should?

What these people are suggesting is a central bank that Toribash itself owns and operates, similar to an existing bank. The problem and main difference between a real bank and this suggestion is that there is no easy way to verify the loaner's identity, let alone the loaner establishing good credit so that the bank can trust them with a loan. Furthermore, it would be nigh impossible to enact a good way of enforcing the loan. Yes, they can IP ban, but then that person gets another computer and does it again. No authority will get involved since it's a game, and it would likely be an international issue, and this would be small beans in comparison to other, real international issues.
