Also you should bear in mind that most biblical scholars agree that the book of Revelations was written, and intended to be read, as a sort of coded political statement. The number 666 is most likely a reference to something relevant to the time the book was written. The reason the number was used is because every letter in the Hebrew alphabet has a numerical equal, Im not sure what 6 is, but Im pretty positive that is the general assumption.
But yeah, the book is filled with things like this. The three headed dragon that represents three tyrant rulers of Rome. The harlot who rides the dragon that represents a nation (I forget which one specifically) that has taken sides with Rome.
It all makes way more sense to me then "The book of Revelation is a prophecy written thousands of years ago and you should be afraid because of it.
I am pretty sure it stood for Nero but I could be wrong.
