Secret Santa 2024
does merry christmas even hold its religious meaning completely still? if someone passes you on the street and says merry christmas, theyre just basically wishing you a good time, not wishing you a good celebration of the birth of jesus
oh yeah
I agree with you entirely, however a repetition of being told to have a "happy Christmas" when you yourself don't celebrate Christmas could lead you to feel excluded and isolated simply looking at the number of people who have different beliefs to you and celebrate differently as a result. It is not supposed to have this effect mans probably won't do if it doesn't happen so often but when it is almost always "happy Christmas" because of the majority of Christians in Anerica (and atheists who celebrate Christmas) it will make other religions seem less significant in comparison. It probably shouldn't make people feel this way but logic and emotion don't always work together.

Nevertheless, punishing people for saying "Happy Christmas" is still stupid.
Good morning sweet princess
Some people don't actually celebrate Christmas, and kids in general sometimes want to, but due to family reasons, they don't. So it happens that they get jealous because Christmas is always related to giving and getting "great" presents, so I wouldn't say that they'll be offended, but like protonitron said, they'd feel "excluded and isolated".
But, these are rare cases.. As Christmas nowadays has nothing to do with religion, mostly everyone celebrates it.
You're school is being too harsh.. Like BenDover said, the US is suppose to be the land of the free.. So you should be able to say what ever you want, while not purposely offending people.. Anyway, you're school is sure to get in a lot of trouble if some high-strung parents hear about this.

The past makes you wanna die out of regret, and future makes you depressed out of anxiety. So by elimination, the present is likely the happiest time.
I don't take any offense to people telling me Happy Hanukkah, or Merry Christmas.

I live in Texas, but I see what you're saying, there's actually a lot of Jewish people here, and the Jewish people usually just go along with all the Christmas decorations put up in the school.

I personally think that people just need to grow some skin, no one is really offended by saying Happy Hanukkah, or Merry Christmas.
