Toribash powerups - Seishin public beta.
The Itemforgers and Toribash are proud to present:
Seishin - Toribash powerups
Hey everyone. Well we had planned to release this later in the month but due to the recent leaks it's been hard to contain so we've decided to push it out early (so please excuse unpolished art and the placeholder icon (we told jusmi to just make whatever). Trust a few users to ruin something nice for everyone.)
So on that note firstly let me say that yes, we are aware of the controversy surrounding this entire premise as well as the drama surrounding the (recently ex-) staff members involved.
I'm sure that by now you already have a pretty solid idea of where you stand on this and we are aware that it is something with the potential to seriously shake the game and its future. I will say thought, that we will work as hard as possible to seamlessly integrate Seishins to the game with minimum user discomfort on any front - and if you will hear me out and give the Seishin a test you might find that it's really better than you thought.
So with that out of the way it brings us to the important part:
What are Seishin powerups?
Seishin powerups are a new form of subscription that will be made available in the near future for purchase and use in the game. They will offer powerful advantages to the user to give the upper hand against opponents.
There will be a range of subscriptions which offer different levels of advantage at different costs so you can choose what's right for you. As most of the different types of Seishins are still being developed they will be released in full detail at a later date along with pricing. We hope you'll understand but we don't want to state figures that we have to double back on and we don't want to promise features that we can't deliver. Besides, the point of this beta isn't for revealing/testing the Seishins in depth but rather for trialing their use, effectiveness, user patterns and for gathering user feedback from the community. Once released they will only be available for purchase with real money through the normal channels (PayPal ,Steam etc).
We will be using a basic Seishin – developer code Deshi (which means disciple or apprentice in Japanese) during development for our testing over the next few weeks. Ingame, this powerup lowers the opponent's dismember threshold by 10 and gives you a score multiplier of 110%. So if you would normally get 100 points you will now get 110. Neat right?
If you are interested in being part of the open beta testing program then head to the shop through this link and you can get yours for 1000tc (Sadly there's no option in the shop to do free items or limit accounts to only having 1 item rip).
Once you’ve obtained it, it should go into effect after a minute or so after it syncs with the servers. If the item appears to show up in your inventory then that means that it’s working and that’s all you have to do. No benefits are gained from getting multiple as the effects don’t stack. All you will end up doing is irritating the staff who then have to restock it to ensure people don't miss out. These subscriptions can't be sent or sold so all you will do is waste your own tc and inventory space. We really don't want to raise the tc limit because it isn't supposed to cost you anything to help test this but we will if we have to.
We will be gathering analytics about use throughout the program test but if you want to volunteer to answer some questions further then we would be grateful.
Also feel free to discuss the Seishin program here and post suggestions, feedback, replays, observations, etc.
The beta will continue until we feel that we have enough data collected. After that the beta Deshi Seishin will be removed from all accounts while we finalise the other powerups and prepare for release.
Well thanks very much to everyone who participated in this. It was, of course, an April fools joke and we have no intention to release powerup items.
FAQ
Just so we don't have to keep saying the same things over and over again.
1. What happens to the item now?
Nothing. It'll just sit in your inventory as a souvenir of April 1 this year.
2. But I bought lots and I don't want them in my inventory anymore.
Too bad. Should have only got 1.
3. Can I have a refund?
No.
4. Why?
Because at most you should have spent 1k and it was stated that buying more would simply waste your tc. You got a cool item out of it anyway.
5. Are icky's and mwah's bans a part of it?
Absolutely
6. So did the items actually do anything?
No.
7. Can I see the survey results?
Right here.
Thanks again everyone.
Added #5 because it was a frequent question in past few days ~Scorp

Reason: reiterating that they don't stack
