Buying qi isn't a big deal to me at all. And the way members treat someone who has bought qi is way over the top. Like they commited a sin or something. They say "It's like cheating."
Well, it doesn't give them instagib hands or anything. It doesn't help them in gameplay one way or the other. The only thing is that they can buy nice textures.

Well, all old elitists cry blood if they see someone who has gone past them with cash, therefore the hostility. I for one don't care so much, afterall, Qi is only there to give people with the right belt awesome items. Items, are all about looks. And if you're willing to support Nabi through giving them cash to get that extra-good looking gear, I see nothing wrong with it.

Well Guv, the only things that define a player in Tori is their belt, and their reputation. To conserve "definition" of a player their reputation must go become worse if their belt becomes better with no extra objects added to the system.

Ok, well that isnt a real rule, but it works that way =P.

It is like they are cheating though, its like your pretending that you are better then you are. Imagine if you have just done the qualifiers in a F1 race. Then suddenly someone pays the refs a bunch of money and suddenly they are starting at #1 poll position. Everyone in the crowd goes "Wow, hes epic!", but in truth hes worse. You can still beat him, but its fucking annoying.

buying or earning are the same thing, your either put in the time to play matches and have the skill to show for it or you have money made from your own labour to spend on such things to help you out.

Some people buy Qi cause they dont have as much free time to earn it instead they sacrifice a bit of money to get the Qi needed for items, most players who have bought Qi have also purchased boosters and TC and since TC and boosters are the biggest helping add ons to Toribash players who buy experience are no big deal, all it does is show how many fights u been in and if players are willing to buy these so they can wear items then so be it.

They support Nabi and are worthy of saying they have indeed earned it, we respect both players and purchasing players for all the contributions they make to the community and it shouldnt matter is a players uses real money or uses real time to get what they want.

Yeah, exactly my opinion as well.

If you have the time to earn the qi in game, awesome.

If you have a job and are able to buy qi, awesome also.

Either way, nobody really loses.

Yes, i would expect any mod to say something similar, that is the kind of ideal you want.

In almost any game, people who buy items or money are generally hated by regular players, its just the way it is.

Luckily for Tori people who buy credits arent really hated, as its realised that items are just for looks, so you can beat them just as easily, to gain Qi, and prove you are better. This is why Qi-buyers are disliked.

Personally I would never buy qi, but I won't hate somebody that did.
