Lol, I'd have to agree with that. xD

I think it would just make things worse.

Dear, U.S.A,

Hello! Long time no see. How are the colonies? Anyway lets cut to the chase.

This is my view on the latest news I heard about you.

The 700 billion dollar monetary injection smells/reeks of party economics. Think about it. Why do this so close to election period? Is the Republican party priming up its chops for a Democratic win?

1: If the democrats win the election, the additional 700 billion DEFICIT would be a black eye to the new administrative party. How are they going to go through with their platform? Aren't they going to be so swamped in fixing this "genius idea"

(Hey! We're in debt... what should we do? SPEND MORE! I mean we're not responsible anymore arent we?)

How are they going through their plan.. they are going to abandon it aren't they... Flipfloppers. We need staunch people to run the country... a government of resolute "Deciders"

2: If the republicans win... It easy to spin that one. "To solve this financial crisis, we shall propose more tax-cuts for the rich to jumpstart the economy, to pay for these debts. The 700 billion spending is nothing compared to the revenue we will reap from it **cough** in the next generation"

Not to be harsh, but the your economy was kind of good (i mean GREAT) before GWB set foot in office. The previous term, you had an economic SURPLUS. Consistent misguided (oxymoronic) economic decisions have put you in a spiral of deficits.

Now a change in administration wouldn't necessarily solve this problem, but a good long look at the American ideal is needed. The US isn't the powerhouse it used to be, and should be more careful about

a. What your government spends on
b. What your corporations spends on
c. What your people spend on

And fix your foreign relations. The world needs you as much as you need the world... We can help... seriously. Get that monkey off your back and his cronies too.

Good post avwave This whole thing has been rather shocking to those of us living in the states and it sickens me the way it is being "handled". I don't have a firm enough grasp on economics to understand the majority of what is taking place, but I do know that our country is in a seriously bad way right now and that the same fear inducing propaganda which got us into the "Iraq war" is now being used to scare people into voting one way or the other.

The bill was rejected. Honestly I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. I believe that something has to be done very quickly or things will get worse than anyone alive today has ever seen in the U.S.

Unfortunately it seems the majority of the people in Washington are still more concerned about advancing their given political party then actually fixing the nation.

Add to that the fact that the average American is more concerned about who Miley Cirus is fucking or when she will finally leak naked photos to realize our country is dieing.

Today the stock market took the biggest dive it has ever seen. Unfortunately today is also Yom Kipor so we have to wait untill tomorrow if to learn if anything can be done about it all, or rather if anything will be done aside from bicker and blame.

Everyone pray that I get my EFL certification and can one day leave America :P J/K in spite of our suck I like America and I really hope it comes out the other side of this in tact.

America's stock market are in pretty big crisis, and I'm still wondering how badly that will affect us directly. I myself do not know if it is bad or not, whether it is good to be passed or not. Something MUST be done, because 700 billion added to about 3 trillion dollars in debt we already have is bad enough.
I have left Toribash, but will drop in occasionally on the forums and IRC. Still in Sigma.
the stock market drooped like 700 points on news of it's rejection

this must really be hurting peoples retirements

my mom has 10k in the market it's a really calm at home
Now with 100% less angst
Major agree with Avwave. This is in DIRECT sequence with the process of the last Depression, except that THIS time,, they were not scared enough to pass the bill. I crapped myself laughing when this 'financial crisis' happened, cos it's so close to the elections. I mean, come on, people. You really expect me to believe that's a coincidence? You all know my feelings on that subject.

Want to see how this is exactly like what happened with the last Depression? Watch Zeitgeist. It doesn't deal with the current one, cos it was made in 2005, but ithe method and result is incredibly similar when you compare the two 'financial crises'.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, dismiss my arguments, but events have happened, and that has made them facts. What makes opinions is the way that they are viewed.

There are no coincidences when dealing with agendas, only the illusion of coincidence.

Well they wrote a new bill and passed it this time. For some reason this time they just gave tax breaks to certain industries like the wool industries or somtin like that and then the nascar industry got a tax break. So essentially they just made the new bill with a lot of earmarks which is pretty lame.
