keep it simple and dont halfass it.
get a face that looks right, but dont overcomplicate it. the hair and eyes will be the most important bit.

the side of the helmet is magnificent, but i do worry that the bottom of the visor limits your options for the face.
i think it would almost be better to lower the visor and hide the face.
the helmet is obviously the focus.
you would have to cut it apart and rework the entire front section though.
but this way the face isnt the focus, all youd see is the eyes and hair, which are the important bits.

crappy reference but gets the point across:

I'll see how it turns out, if I can hit that sweetspot in between it would be ideal, but otherwise, its probably going to have a more cartoon-ish look to it.

*snip sexy hat*

I never thought you would comment here, I'm flattered.
That being said, I tried a bunch of ways to position eyes, but they turn out a little odd-looking.
I have some ideas for the hair but the face itself has me stopped dead in my tracks. I'm really considering making her faceless and lowering the visor as you mentioned. In case I did, I'm a little uncertain if I should add a mouth or nose. I guess I'll have to experiment a bit.

Thanks for all the CnC it means a lot to me.

I might add WIP 3 tomorrow (in case anyone is following this thread), maybe include an InGame view and a flat for people to try out (cause why not)

if you dont want to revise the helmet, you could try scrapping the idea of eyes all together and just work with shadows, dont actually define it, minimal highlights, but im not sure it would fit with the theme or the style. the regal look and light colour pallete would clash, although you could argue that the potential contrast could work aswell.

editing it wouldnt be THAT much effort though. cutting it in half, lowering it to be centred vertically on the sides leaves you with only redrawing the centre bit.
the top of the visor has some nice lines to work with.
at which point the face is easy, if you leave the top piece of the visor to cover most of the nose, youd only have to deal with the bridge of the nose instead of the whole nose and mouth. then you have ample options for the eyes.

mouth and nose options are pretty limited and boring when you're going for a regal look, so lowering it allows you to either keep the regal theme, or go for a more aggressive look.

mostly, id decide if you wanted to keep the helmet as is, or edit it. then do the hair and see what options youre left with.

Followed your advice, I'm liking the new arrangement. Thanks a bunch. Needs some more detail on the top of the helmet, the eyes and hair and should be almost done, hopefully.

WIP 3

I think the regal plating looks really nice, interested in this project. My only complaint would be the emblem on the top of the forehead; I don't know if this is just a personal gripe or if anyone else feels the same, but I think the lines of the gray part look a bit choppy and the emblem looks a little bit like a yellow alien head with red eyes. :P Might just be me. Great otherwise.
not that i'm especially an artist but it seems to me that the cover(?) covers up a large amount of the face, maybe too much.

if you can make it work, well done. but i think it will be hard
