Not to be harsh, but this is a horrible, horrible habit to fall into. All you did was slab a render on there, some font, a gradient background, then you spammed blood brushes on different opacities / layer styles all over the foreground.
It may look cool at first, but doing stuff like this will get you nowhere when it comes to graphic art.
Try making some pieces without using any brushes so you can get used to the tools, then try using the brushes in more of an artistic way, rather than making them part of the whole piece. :3
Once I discovered brushes at first I was doing the same kind of thing, but trust me, if you use more-so layer adjustments, smudging, effects, pen tool, etc. then just touch it up with some details using brushes, you can make things alot better.
I believe that I never really developed any skills until I stopped using brushes altogether for a little while, then later started using them rarely but more effectively.
Still very nice for a first though, you should be proud you've figured this much out already!
