Let's call em grabby punches, but I don't see the use of distinguishing between "grabby punches" and "nubclaps" since both are nooby moves with hands that involve grabbing... actually I don't know the difference.

Yes, you don't have to, and shouldn't do everything with your feet, but you don't have to grab to punch.

Well, yeah, but let's face it, doing a srs punch every time you want to DM something would be ridiculous, like what you see in Chez.

The first one has a glitch in it. I can't find satisfaction in "chickening", and the kick here is really awkward, so I don't really like the replay.

The second one doesn't seem to be ready yet... will comment it once it is.

And yeah it would be ridiculous doing a serious punch every time you want to DM. You're supposed to kick, too. In my mind there is no room for grabby punches. Grabbing with the other hand (no DM) and punching with the other or kicking with the legs is OK for midway players or if you shatterhit, but I think completely nograbby is always the best.
