Use GIMP. When you got the texture erady (preferably bigger than 128x128), go to filters>Animation>Spinning globe and set it to 30 frames or so. To make realistic heads, use pov ray and the search button. Good luck!
If you mean the miscoloring, it's because of the .gif animation. It just has to be that way until I learn how to do 360 degrees rotation in pov-ray. I know the heads just seem lame now, but they're way better in-game, believe me.
