Ok so:

Ease of use:
From experience I know that people (especially those between 10 and 14) tend to not read instructions, therefore a system like the mod system should be made to automatically download scripts; like the mod system scripts would have to be approved.
Now this leads us to another ease of use problem: "How do I do stuff in this script..." My thoughts would be to make an ingame script help system. You press say: F2 and then it triggers a hook which would then display help / go through a tutorial / demonstrate the script or something like that.

Scripting Functionality:

Two major parts of toribash are replays and online play. Seeing as scripting can't affect either of these things, it is flawed.
We can change almost every aspect of toribash, but almost none of those changes are recorded in replays; if there was some kind of new replay format implemented that for example: loaded the script and emulated input and such then that would be a major step forward in scripting.
Another aspect which I mentioned above is online play. I seem to remember Newbluck (I think) showing me a system he had made for his server (he had full access to Asia servers, he could upload his scripts to them). His system consisted of a server script and a client script. The server script would send variables which the client script could then use for whatever reason. This system seems to have unlimited possibilities, if it were to be implemented (would be easy to implement if there was the script database as mentioned in "Ease of Use"), there would be a vast array of epic scripts such as online pummel, online punchout, online.. shader maker? It would be epic! (sure there would be lag but hey, ONLINE PUMMEL).

Anyway I hope you take these suggestions into consideration. Scripting has the possibility to make toribash 100x better, but it needs these improvements to do so.
:D
Scripting is a way of implementing your own ideas into the game, and it's also a way of implementing stuff that would be unnecessary to implement by the developers. I think that they need moar love, and that people need to realize how much they're able to do with lua-scripting. Although, what Blam mentioned is also true. If the door could just be opened up a little bit more, I think you'll get more scripters, scriptings, and awesome creative ideas.

I started working on a "stance maker" script... but I need some support from developpers to know how modding works in TB.

If someone in the Nabi developpers team can take a look at my work and tell me what's wrong here : http://forum.toribash.com/showthread.php?t=77261

BTW, lua support in TB is awesome, although the SDK/documentation is very poor.
Oh yeah, more and better documentation would probably encourage more people to script.
:D
I love to mess around with scripts. Also i'm always in irc to help test new scripts for people. The main complaint I have about scripts is that they don't show up in the replays. For instance, one time I did a shoryken with an earlier version of pummel, but I had no way to show anyone . Another thing I'd like to see is more extreme scripts, like pummel and that skating script or maybe even a flight sim where tori and uke dogfight.

Oh, and maybe more complicated shapes. like in povray, how you can add and subtract basic shapes from each other to make more complex ones.
i have a totally post modern tattoo of a scalene triangle.

You mean this?

Interesting how there's this epic script, and no one really knows about it (this is why we need the script database thing)
:D
Ok, so I do like scripts. Recently been playing the Challenges Script by Blam, and i like it. Its fun, and with all the achievements its fun. I like Dafe's pummel6 script, where you get to press key to fight. There was a familiar one with that. Oh, its the 'punchout' script, where you press keys controlling your tori, in an awesome match against the raging uke.
I don't understand .lua though. Programming seems to technical for this small mind of mine. But seeing and playing the scripts is a real joy for people in toribash. I think i have ran the 'random' script for uke in single player before, and then going in multilayer to it randomized my moves.
I love the idea of Dafe's Environment Extension script, I think it would be amazing for videos, but it will NOT load on any version of my toribash at all.

Therefore, I am sad. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?
