Moorea was a bit of a disappointment, somehow I got crippling back
pain just before I left for my tour. I got some photos on the tour,
but I've never had such constant pain like that. It was right in my
lower back and no matter what I did, it would not go away. I ended up
asking the tour guide if we could go back to the dock, I couldn't take
it any more. He was a really nice guy so he dropped me at his friend's
rent-a-car place. They were lovely people and I got back to the pier
in half the time. I got back on deck and went to sleep, just to wait
it out. I'm pretty sure the beds are shaped or something and I was
lying in it wrong the night before. :|
Yesterday was fantastic, it was the aqua safari.
The helmets are like a cube that fits over your shoulders and only
lets the water up to your collarbone. When you go down you have to
constantly pop your ears to equalize the pressure. I didn't get it at
first, but then I got the hang of it. They gave us each a bag full of
french baguettes so the fish would come to us. They came to us all
right.
I saw (reading the chart I took a pic of on my camera) a lot of racoon
butterflyfish, a yellowmargin triggerfish (start googlin'), a lot of
forcepsfish, a single clownfish (so cute :3), a tonne of scissor-tail
sergeant and one more.
A barracuda. I was literally 2m away from a barracuda named Josef.
Just incredible.
We had one of the ship's film crew with us, she was filming the whole
thing with her underwater camera. There's gonna be a dvd of most of
the cruise.
So I'll pick it up cos it's only $40 and it'll really
be worth it.
