Niel Peart is probably one of the, if not THE greatest drummer in the world. I love the band, also, random fact of rush, The beginning of YYZ is YYZ in morse code. ;o

Onice, you're talking about "A WHOLE BAND'S COLLECTION SONGS." That's cool. Nice.

I'm not talking about influences at all. Stop arguing just for the sake of arguing like you love to do.

Since you are arguing with my original post, you are saying that they don't have their own original sound. Or perhaps you didn't even understand me in the first place.

Also, you should start by understanding my posts instead of jumping to conclusions. It was retarded of you to even think that I meant that they started progressive rock. That was really cool of you.

I'm also not going to do some research on shit that you posted just so you could make a point. Your point never was even related to what I said, so why should I? You're talking about their influences when I'm just saying that they have their own distinct sound. Why would you even argue with that? Oh yeah, because you have a fetish for arguing. Almost forgot.

I don't think there is a "THE GREATEST" drummer in the world, but he definately is one of the greatest.

I have left Toribash, but will drop in occasionally on the forums and IRC. Still in Sigma.

Then don't argue, seeing as how you have no reference. Secondly, you said they created "Their own style of rock". They didn't. I was showing you two albums that were remarkably similar to the core of Rush music. Try listening, and then try making a point. Nice

Cool.

Cool.

Queen II

Ogre Battle: Kind of. Not really. Doesn't sound like Rush.
Nevermore: What?
Procession: What?
Father to Son: I really like this song..but it doesn't come close to Rush's "core".

The rest of Queen II doesn't come close, either.

I listened to Saucerful of Secrets. It sounds like a bunch of noise. Rush never did do a full instrumental album, or do what Pink Floyd did on that album for one...like play the guitar with their feet. That album was a terrible reference.

Those two albums sound nothing like Rush. I'm not even sure why you would even use them as a reference to Rush's music. Floyd, Queen, and Rush sound completely different from each other.

You're not analyzing deeply enough. An album doesn't need to *sound* exactly the same to be influential to that of another band. That's all I'll say.

Do you have any proof whatsoever that they were influenced by those two albums?

O nice, you've got a degree, right? In music? No you don't.

^ lmao

I see that you have no answer. I can conclude that your references truly were shit, then.

No, they weren't. You however, were acting very high and mighty in saying that Rush created this new style of music, without any actual evidence. That's why I made that obviously sarcastic response.

I NEVER said that they created Progressive Rock. Nice way to pay attention and read.

I just said that they have their own distinct sound. Spore, how many posts does it take to make you understand? No one else really sounds like them.
