Raffles can be beneficial for both the customers and hosts depending on the prise, and the purpose of the raffle.

Good things to raffle off:
no-qi-[insert expensive force/lax here]: Most people will want whatever this is, but it's way to expensive for any one person to afford who hasn't allready got one.
texture packs: Too expensive for any one person to afford. Everyone who CAN afford it has pretty much allready bought one. Worth alot, but demand is low for the upper class.
Singular, expensive items, that most people want, but little people can afford: give a chance for a nub to get a good item.

what NOT to have as the prise for a raffle:
random items that you can not sell through an auction
low-demand items
multiple small-worth items.
^^why not? Because it would be more simple just to auction it off. whoever's hosting it is likely attempting to rip you off.

If you don't like raffles and lotteries, just ignore them. You don't control them in anyway.

No more GameKeepers=No more good old replay competitions

Yeah, sure, PT does host a FEW replay comps, but they just don't seem to be for everyone. I mean, there aren't THAT many people that actually LIKE to make dance replays.

The GameKeepers brought a rather easy task to a competition, but enhanced that task by setting certain perameters or prerequisites, making it enjoyabe for everyone.

Yeah I agree with Aspire. Don't start disallowing lotteries, it generates income for the host and the winner(s). But I do agree that there should be more replay comps in the place of shitty little lotteries (try saying that 3 times with your mouth full :3), as there aren't enough 'fun' ones around =/
