I am just about out of the community, and I lurk around the forums occasionally. The fuck? I am lurking around and right as I am about to close the page, I see this disturbing thread. I love dogs, and if that was truly a dog, I feel very bad for it. Yeah, those soldiers are sooooo cool because they can throw dogs off cliffs. Good job, purple heart? I can see that they are a little disturbed by war, but seriously, you could have just left it alone. That wasn't fucking funny either, (woops I tripped) mother fucker, woops I trimmed and dropped a god damn sledge hammer into your fucking face. Sorry, you are dead now. Just because a few soldiers have been videotaped doing horrible things, that does not mean that they all do it. They are just a group of extremely fucked up people, and you should not make the mistake of looking down on all soldiers simply for what their ignorant comrades have done.

I can actually relate to this, seeing as I have had a job that had a similarly bad, if not worse reputation for malpractice and cruelty.
I have worked as an animal technician for a medical research centre. We do not want to be cruel to animals, we actually do our very best to make sure that they are as comfortable as possible in what is quite often a very short life. Yet the image of the animal tech has been tarnished repeatedly by a small minority of sick individuals who wish to cause unnecessary pain to other living things.

As a consequence of this, every Wednesday after work I would get insulted, spat on and sometimes followed by the retarded protesters who can't seem to understand this. Anyone who generalises American soldiers in this way is also one of those retards who doesn't actually have a clue about what they are talking about.

ugh, not to derail this all (because it so focused and intelligent a discussion anyway ;) I love how people get mad about animal testing even though some of it saves human lives.

Huh? The Bible? Do you think atheists would believe that? The Bible is only based on your religion view. I'm a Muslim, and yes, it was also written in the holy Qur'an that humans are the most superior and advanced lifeform in the entire universe. But that doesn't mean that we can abuse power over animals and plants. Yes, we can hunt animals or harvest plants, but we do that in order to live, and that's how life goes. Throwing a dog off a cliff is just.. irrational.
