Anyway, to put it simply. IT IS REALITY that dogs and babies are stuffed with explosives and used as weapons. So it is only common sense, to be on the lookout for anything that can get you, or your men killed. I have only seen one, dog out of my entire military career go boom, (THAT was STILL ALIVE anyway..) The rest of them are usually corpses.
But still. Reality of it is, these people arent wearing a uniform. They can be ANYBODY. And to make sure that we can come home alive. Their friendly cute little furry creatures that wander too close will be shot on sight.
Back to the real topic. Even though the dog was dead to begin with, those marines were charged and put in the brig for it for this fact:
THEY should not have even approached it in the first place because it could have had a bomb sewn or stuffed in it.
Thats all. Not because they threw it off the cliff.
It was already dead.
Thanks to all those that ACTUALLY have any common sense out there, such as deady, CrazyGreek, and others. But i believe this topic has just about worn out, and is indeed flying onto other fualts that have slight similarities but no real connection.
ANY animals shot or blown up, and or killed via Combat knife, and were not rigged to explode, or a real risk of giving away a covert infantry position, (hence the knife.) Owners are to be found and re-compisated by an american worth of the dog with US Dollars.
It is in a Marine Corps order. Which is why officers get pissed when they shoot a dog that is not a threat, Because their unit has to stop and compensate the owner. two recieps are written and one copy is handed to the owner for a small and simple verification.
Really, there is no way of knowing the dog is a threat or not until it is already dead.
Thats all. The dog was already dead, the marines were charged for just blindly walking up to it.
Issue resolved.
THAT MY FRIENDS.. Is reality of it. So insulting me saying i am not in touch with reality only shows how sheltered of an opinion you reallly have. And how blind and inexperienced you really are. Leave the debate up to the players that are holding all the cards, the big boys.
Genki, you are a commendable opponent, but unfortunately, you still fall short of a full deck. Thanks for the debate however. I really do appreciate it.
