Discord is absolutely fantastic. The UI is easy to figure out (for the most part) and there are a lot of features that Teamspeak or Mumble don't have. Also I'm friends with the guy that created it, so there could be a slight bias there.

If they made it so that I could host my own discord server, and keep the log files and have the security that I know it will only go down if I fuck up. Then I'd like discord, atm it is way too centralised. And by the person that made it, one of the devs, or the guy that owns it?

He is the owner and was the lead dev until he built a larger team. Goes by the username JBone. Don't let his smiling picture on the staff page fool you, I'm pretty sure he only has frown lines.

I'm pretty sure you can host your own server, but I know that whoever is the admin of the server has access to the full logs. I haven't tried it, since I don't have enough friends for it to matter.

EDIT2: Yeah, I just made my own. It took me all of five seconds.

What I mean is that I have the logs and only I, I really don't trust people nearly enough to use discord in a professional sense... due to all the security risks and all that milarky.

Okay, I'll try to not sound so old.. I like discord, it has potential. One think I dislike it that it is not open source, so I can't change things on it, and see how things work! I really like the webapp that it has, but the mobile app sucks dick and shout let you disable beeps, my phone vibrating contently because some dumb admin setting to notifications to beep at all messages ._.
