Any recommendations for general League of Legends guides? Any youtube channels or Reddit posts that really go in depth teaching the basics of league would be great, I'm looking on my own but if you guys have found any that helped you out I'd appreciate it if you passed me the link. So yeah pm me or post them here if you have any you'd like to share.

The champion spotlights actually cover a lot of the basics and tricks to any champions you're interested in. Other than that the best thing to do is to watch people better than you play, and then do what they do. The more involved stuff (wave control, freezing, optimal trades, buffering inputs, zoning, split pushing, DEALING WITH TILT) is a biiiiiit more specific.

FoxDrop can give you some good advice for jungling, This guy is kind of perky but has some good vids on creep control, imaqtpie is always good for picking up some adc mechanics, same goes for gosu, etc. etc.

If you want barebones basics, the thing to do is look up some champion guides and start from there (player made guides - statistical builds - Never fucking go on Mobafire). Best case scenario, you have someone who's already into League explain what all the numbers and shit on the screen mean, ap, ad, mr, crits, armor, you get the idea. Other than that, get in game, lose a shitload, get yelled at by your team, and then learn what not to do until you eventually find what works. Shit sucks but eventually, unless you have the cognitive functions of a fourth grader, you'll be able to pull yourself out of silver elo and start having some "enjoyable" games.

Yeah I've been hovering low gold since summer(although I haven't really played much since worlds started) so i figured I might as well try to practice my mechanics instead of trying to bulldoze my way up playing Anivia only and stomping lane every game, which I can do now because of the new matchmaking, but yeah I tried to play a game of jungle and a game of ADC and I go absolutely dumped on which made me realize that my overall game mechanics are pretty trash.

Go into a custom alone, choose empty runes and masteries, pick an adc, never buy items, never use abilities, and only auto attack to last hit. If you miss the last hit, you can't get the creep. Count how much cs you can get by 20 minutes.

If you aren't even near 150, then you need to keep doing this until you get near 150, because free farming should at least be 75% of the all creeps for getting past gold into plat. First wave spawns at 1:15 and spawns another wave every 30 seconds, you should have ~38 waves, which is ~200 minions, pass through any given lane by 20 minutes. Netting at least 150 of them, and none of the cannons missed, should be standard for adc mechanics.
