Only leads to people disliking me if they are irrational people. Reasoning behind that being that selfishness is a rational virtue in with respect to objective reality. You should try reading the original thread. It might help you to stop reading things out of context. My life is more valuable to me than anyone elses. If it came down to it in a life or death situation, some random and me, I would most definately kill that random. Is it irrational to do something that would further my life? Of course not.
