Don't blame the person that handed out the ban either. People obviously reported Murm's invasions and ergo, Murm recieved the proper punishment for said offence. The moderator was just doing his job.

Obviously the admins can't be everywhere at once but there are a number of cases involving advertisment that have gone un-punished, I'd say the rule would really be more about intent than the litteral actions taken. For example if I came into this forum going "HEY GUISE CHECK MY SHOP AND BUY MY SUFF KTHXBYE" I would surely get banned, however if I came in here and said something along the lines of "Hey guys, I'm helping make this comic thing and I need some people willing to participate and was wondering if you guys would be interested?" etc, though I may have mentioned a product or project, I'm not directly advertising and am rather more inviting them to assist, not to mention that its free and whatnot. I haven't seen the post(s) in question but from what I've heard it was pretty clear and un-intrusive.
