You hold a rubber band between your thumb and index finger.
Then you fold a piece of paper untill its thick and then you shoot it with the rubber band.
These things are called paper hornets.

Slingshots are indeed very cool but I think the paper hornets are a bit more accessible since you only need a rubberband and some paper.
Both of those are easy to find when you are at school. Also if they catch you with a slingshot, they will know what you are up to.

Haha i remember those, we actually got rubber bands banned from our school because of these. Definitely one of my favorite moments in my school life.
