ACTA. Discuss. Good points, bad points, and the like. I was in a protest against it in my city today, and there were protests all over the country(as far as I know, all over Europe too). I am completely against this thing, as I don't think anyone can tell me what I can and cannot share. About the piracy issue - imagine someone steals your car, but it's still there in the morning. What did you lose? Information should be free.

yea, me too. im totally against the acta thing.here in Australia,we dont have anything to do with it, YET. not on the news, nothing, i've only heard seen and heard of it online.

and about the photo. either that is you, because i remember you saying V for Vendetta is your favorite movie. or just showing us it because someone was wearing the mask it in the protest

I hope Germany won't sign. I doubt that Germany will sign tho, since we already have a similar problem called GEMA, which basicially controlls what videos we are allowed to watch and which not (I think that currently over 50% of the youtube vids can't be watched in germany due to copyright stuff).

So a lot of people in Germany know this problem and therefore never would allow ACTA since it's like the same, just worse.

Also considering to an anonymous youtube vid, the musicians don't even have any profit. It's more the other way. With ACTA those musicians can't use any lyrics of any other song, any bit of melody or even samples of songs. So even the amount of music which get released would be reduced. They basicially even are stopping our creativity with that, because everything was already used somewhere else.

I can't really think about any positive points.

I can see you are doing well on your own.
I just wanted to become an ally because I might be able to help around in various things.
Now may not be the best time to become an ally because I will be inactive on weekdays but I just wanted to try and see the outcome.

Welcome. And good point Pitcher, ACTA kills creativity. As do schools....
