I have a fucked up sleeping schedule. I'm used to dealing with this, my sleeping schedule has fluctuated all throughout my teen years. The reason I don't sleep well is because I just don't want to. I want to stay up all day and night doing what I do. There are times where I just have to sleep, though, and this is one of them. My girlfriend wants to see me early tomorrow and The Walking Dead comes on at 9, I don't want to be falling asleep on her or during my show.

I've been laying in bed for the past two hours, making a serious effort to fall asleep. I'm in complete silence and darkness, which I've always needed to sleep. When I close my eyes, my mind rushes with ideas -- excitement for tomorrow, for my girlfriend, Toribash, and just about anything else that makes me happy in my life. It makes me so excited that I can't sleep. I'm so full of energy -- yet my body feels tired and worn. I've tried to clear my head and concentrate on sleeping, but when I do, I only fall half asleep. I end up waking. Judging by past sleeping experiences, it seems the best way to fall asleep is to stay up so long that I can't stay awake any longer.

Can anybody suggest something for me, maybe based on experience? I know I could have googled this, but I feel more comfortable in asking people I know.

This may sound weird, but try masturbating. I am serious. Trust me, it works, ask anyone.

I've had nights where I'd do this two-three times within one sleep attempt period and all it does is rub me raw, to be honest. :P getting rid of any sexual tension while trying to sleep does help me relax, but that period of feeling relaxed and flushed after ejaculation doesn't last long enough to really help me.
Sleep with some noise. Make sure you're breathing well, run a fan facing away from you so that air circulates. Even try sleeping in your bed upside-down, as in flipping where the pillow is to the opposite side.
I once readed most sleep problems are because you're not breathing well, and the solution was to take breath for 4 seconds, keep it 7, and release it in 8. After some repetitions I start to feel tired and will eventually fall sleep. Tell me if the method works for you. ^^

Hi Timmy you silly man. When will you join Viddah and I play Contagion. Oh right, we played Contagion, and I have three other copies. If you are willing to join the Mumble and talk with us, I will send you a copy.

PM me. Do not post on here asking for one. Thanks.

I realise this is a bit late, but here's some advice for the future. Aside from stealing your parents alcohol and falling asleep easily to a nice buzz, you may want to try meditating before you go bed. I recommend an Android/Apple app called 'Headspace'. It's a series of guided meditations. After you finish one of the sessions, you won't feel excited or nervous or anything. Then, as you go to sleep, keep concentrating on your breathing like the meditation app shows you. Just focus on your breath and if you get distracted by any thoughts, return to focusing on your breath.

As others have also suggested, a soft constant noise (like the whirring of a fan) will help you get to sleep as well. On top of that, being cool from the fan puts your body at a temperature more conducive to falling asleep, I've found.

Happy dreaming!
Drugs can help with that whole sleeping problem yknow lmao ;)
No but seriously you sound like you have insomnia, I do too I just smoke a blunt before bed.

Looks really nice! I'm quite the fan of zombie survival games. I've played, and completed, Dead Island. I played a fair bit of Riptide but I don't recall finishing it. I like Zombie games that have a story to them, Zombie arena games and Zombie survivals aren't bad either though. I also don't mind general FPS games or Indie games either. So what is everyone's favourite game genres?

I have always struggled getting to sleep since my brain starts thinking about stuff. I always realise that I've gotten distracted while trying to sleep and attempt to go back to focusing on my breathing. I might try out the Headspace app if I get time to.

On a different note, the [WAPOW] Art Event looks really nice. Have any of you considered entering it? I made a bit of an ultimatum to the people reading it that if they draw a good picture of me and that if I like it, that I'd set it as my forum avatar! Here
