If people want something to do with there spare time I could point them towards a few youtube channels they might enjoy. This is not the place to kill time by repeating each other.
This isn't about killing time. This is about the members of the clan voicing their opinions on who gets in and who doesn't. Even if it doesn't mean anything to you as a member of the council, it may mean something to other council members. For example, if a council member sees that all of the other members want this person in the clan, they might reconsider if they originally had a bad image of that person.
Can't we just have at least one "if no comment then assume x' option just to clear up space? Since generally agreeing with what has already been said seems both the most common and neutral opinion people post on this thread I figured we should make that=x. No?
I disagree with this because most comments aren't just a blanket yes or no. Most opinions aren't as black and white as that. People have different things to comment on and different things to ask people to improve on, so a blanket yes or no doesn't always work.
Maybe you guys just like each other a lot more than I do. It just feels like we are only allowing it to make it feel more like a true democracy when it is clearly not even close. It gives the wrong impression and could lead to applicants feeling more confident than they actually should be (if ordinary members all say "Yarp" and a couple council members say "Narp" then it will look like the vast majority of the votes are in their favour when actually they are going to get rejected).
I do, however, kind of agree with this. I think once the council gives their say on things we should have a more explicit yes or no statement to each of the applicants. Something like a list of each council member and what they voted, just to finalize things. To avoid the confusion that is definitely there.
