Play however you want. I like to camp around up on the rooftops if I can. I works well and people don't give me shit about it.

my playstyle is aggressive, i don't find camping fun, so i don't do it. that's not what i want from the game, i could care less about killstreaks. i do rage whenever i'm about to get a chopper gunner and i run into some camper hiding behind the corner though. who wouldn't?
anyway, i only play "intense" classes.
2 smg classes (marathon/stopping power/commando, if i do decide to try akimbo ump, i'll use steady aim on that one. i stopped using vector for a while, decided to try p90)
2 sniper classes, 1 with intervention and classic qsing setup, one with other shitty snipers. i never really use the other class though, i like intervention.
danger close setup (that first bazooka (until i get rpg), whatever assault rifle with noobtube i feel like)
test class, currently a standard assault rifle class.

If you want to be the biggest fag in the game, with the best K/D, Use this class:
Primary: Any Assault Rifle, Grenade launcher attachment
Secondary: N/A
Equipment: Claymore
Perk 1: One Man Army (Pro preferred)
Perk 2: Danger Close (Pro preffered)
Perk 3: Whatever the crap you want, but scrambler makes you a bigger fag ;)
Killstreak: Predator,Harrier,Chopper Gunner.
Method: Take the assault rifle and noob tube, then plant a claymore, open up OMA, and swith to the same class. You will have refilled you're noob tubes and claymores, rinse and repeat. Once you get a Predator, it will be Chuck Norris enhanced, cause you got Danger close. Same goes with Harrier and Chopper Gunner. Almost got a nuke with this setup (No predator)

This setup being used. This guy just owns the other team, gets over a 100 kills, but gets disconnected halfway through.
