Swine flu is nothing to be scared about unless you dont wash your hands properly. Use soap and hot water for at least 15-20 seconds and you should be okay. Just remember to wash them frequently. Btw, did they get the vaccine for it yet? What are they doing!?!

That's right. If people sneeze and cough on you, you won't get sick because you washed your hands! There's no need for vaccines too because your soap will do the job.

On a serious note, blah. In Portugal there are some "infected", but it's nothing too serious.

Washing your hands is a precaution for if you touch something that has the virus on it and you pick it up... It does not give you a magic "I'm safe from swine flu" bubble!

Swine-flu is not particularly more dangerous than regular flu.

There is a vaccine that is going to be mass produced...

With the money that is spent on the vaccine there is NOT GOING TO BE THE REGULAR FLU JABS! (In the UK atleast)...

In the winter we should be worried not about swine flu... but about regular flu which the oldies and weak of immune system will not be protected against...

And all the talk about "Swine flu will mutate! Run for your lives!"
Yes it will... but regular flu mutates all the time EVERY year it is different...

And if swine flu does mutate its antigen will be different so those who have had it will not be immune (Though they will probably have increased resistance)

Swine-flu is just like an regular flu.
Many people here had it and they were only sick for like a week. They had the 'symptoms' of regular flu. High temperature and the likes. Its nothing special.

My opinion:

Regular flus have been infecting and even killing more people than swine flu will ever kill/infect.

actually in 1961 or something it killed over 50000 in the united states my father and family survived but its no laughing virus

As previously stated... this virus has not killed as many as the regular flu because of media hype.

Ergo people get freaked out if they have flu like symptoms- go to the doctor- get tamiflu- get better faster/decrease mortality (that's death rate, right?).

It actually is kind of a threat because.. well it's not flu season and its already very contagious, imagine what it will be when people are inside almost 24/7 because it's freezing out.

No that was the Spanish Flu and it was earlier then that.

People get sick more in the winter because they are in closer contact with other people, all huddled inside, not because its colder.
