And stealing normally isn't considered wrong? :P

I think this statement sort of contradicts itself. If you were never going to buy a piece, would you download it? Imagine a world without pirating possibilities. Would the likelyhood of buying as some form of gamble not be far higher?

I'm not gonna argue with Dalir's closure, although the thread was pretty much harmless. We strictly forbid promotion of piracy on site and I'm guessing that's what he feared. In any case, rather than discussing piracy, this thread is meant to be more focussed on "pirate rights" or whatever you wish to call it.

I agree. That's exactly what I'm talking about. You don't "side with pirates". It's there. You like it. You grab it. I believe it's called "buttpiracy", but if being a pirate of solidarity necessitates me to sympathize with the idiots that believe online registrations to be the work of the devil, I'd rather keep pirating butts.

But I will probably never buy a singleplayer game. 599 norwegian kroner for a game with short replaybility is not worth it. But if I ever get a good income, ill buy Fallout 3 and Oblivion, considering the time I have been playing them.
I agree with you here. I find few games to be worth supporting - honestly, games are not that good nowadays and few keep me entertained more than a few days, save for the few good multiplayer games that make owning a copy a necessity.

I don't really understand the people that resent comparisons between piracy and stealing. People have made the stuff you listen to, watch and play, and largely expect you to pay for it. The only major difference is that it's more accessible, and (therefor) more people do it.
