I would only condone this behavior if the victim made it clear to his mother that he wanted to die. In any other case, it's unacceptable. Even in the above scenario, the victim's choices could have been influenced by recent, non-permanent events, or being under the influence.
What you guys are forgetting, is that if assisted suicide is legal, many more people would be pleading that at their court cases, and many would get away with it.
I agree with this. However, there are also a lot of selfish reasons for it.
"I saw that she was in pain every minute of her life, so I had to put her out of her misery. It had nothing to do with me inheriting her entire estate and 500 million dollars"
