In school? School is a place for learning, not for fashion. If a school deems it apropos for a dress code to be enforced (much like professional workplaces), then they are fine to do so.
Admittedly though, the dress code on socks at my school is a bit excessive.

I really don't mind having to wear school uniforms.
It all depends on what the uniforms are in your school.
Also, people can not make fun of others by the way they dress.
It's impossible with school uniform.

^Me in my school uniform
Meanwhile in Finland...

@ silentassassin

school uniforms should fit the individual age.
imo children like u wearing ties is bullshit.

modern school uniforms ftw, a school in my town has quite nice sweaters with a cool logo.

so wut?
Well this is a high school uniform.
It's also a private Christian school so that's why the uniforms seem like they fit an older age group.

Yeah seeing as it is not really supported by anything other then they are "uncomfortable"
My seniority means you should probably just agree with everything I say
It keeps people from dressing too inappropriately. And makes it easier to wake up in the morning and pop something on.

My school is changing to uniforms because they "Noticed increased levels of rowdiness in the school". My argument? How is forcing people to wear uniforms supposed to make them less rowdy? In ancient Egypt, King Akhenaten forced monotheism upon the civilization... It didn't last...

The only time I've ever had to wear a uniform was in primary school, and even then they weren't incredibly strict. In high school, we have a dress code, which I don't really mind. It actually makes it easier in the morning, because it means that I know exactly (or near-enough) what I have to wear.
My friend, who comes from France and where they have nothing like a uniform what so ever, has told me that he was never aware of any uniform-related bullying. So I'm kind of ambiguous about uniforms. They aren't necessarily bad, but nor are they necessarily good.

I'm sorry but what? Yeah, because forced monotheism on an entire country is exactly like having uniforms in schools.
