HAHA! Sleep better at night knowing you're doing "your part"? Bah, what a heaping pile of bullshit, and I'll reason to you why.
Steaming Piece #1) Humans are hurting and destroying Earth.
Wait, you're implying the Earth has a baseline health that it needs to maintain, and if it doesn't, we need to medic quickly so it doesn't flatline and crash into the sun? What kind of logic is that? Humans have done so much in so little time because we augment the Earth to our purposes, and the reasonable progression of this augmentation is: Minuscule adaption of environment to selves -> low-scale adaption of environment to selves -> moderate adaption of environment to selves with low-level detriment to planet -> high-scale adaptation of environment to selves with moderate detriment to planet and probability of existential threats to high scales of population -> reasonable adaption of environment to selves with sustainability strictures. The transition is already happening; besides, if your argument is that humans are raping Mother Earth, we've been doing that for a long time, why haven't we completely torn her in half yet?
Steaming Piece #2) I am not selfish.
Hate to attack you bro, but you totally are! All humans are.
Steaming Piece #3) I do all this to help save Earth.
Please. Large-scale industry is responsible for more emissions than population centers are. You wanna delay the transition to reasonable adaptation of environment to selves with sustainability strictures and join an eco-terrorism front, that would do more 'good' than driving a hybrid and eating organic.
Well, that's my rant.
