Secret Santa 2024
So many kids play soccer(football) here that it's impossible for it not to become more popular. Most people I know were on a team sometime in their life.

Also, hockey, nascar, and basketball are quite unpopular here.

depends on where you are war, some places here in america basketball is very popular. hockey i would agree but also the nascar thing is like basketball. i think its funny though how people always look at america as the try-fail-give up type. like if we don't excel at something we don't go back to it... from my experience as an american that is not true at all. it's try-fail-get up-try again

as for the soccer, it is fairly popular in some areas in america as well it's just not one of those things that most people here would really want to watch i don't think, however it HAS gained in popularity since about 10 years ago
You don't say?

Nascar and hockey isn't that popular. But in the vast majority of the country, mainly East coast, Basketball is HUUUUGE.

To be honest, the only time i watch football is the world cup, the drama and all that is what keeps me watching..

but i'd rather watch it than american handegg, they run for like 2 feet then get tackled and all the players get back into position.. or basket ball, there's so many baskets that its hard to get excited over any of them.. :|

I've also noticed American sports take longer to develop.

Nascar, is only exciting the last 10 laps where everyone goes all out
Basketbal, Is only exciting in the last minutes with desperation shots going off
Handegg, Is only exciting in the last quarter, or when a big play happens
Baseball, only exciting last inning
etc.

Where as football is always a chance for something to happen, but happens less often.

American sports are more about patiently waiting for a game to unfold, where as rugby and football, stuff happens non-stop.

if football was the way to get rich in america you can bet we'd have all our poor black children playing it non-stop so they can become rich from being AMAZINGLY good at it.
