I use firefox right now, but I used to use Opera all the time. Can't remember when or why I switched though. I think it preferred the default look of firefox, since they all felt snappy enough to me. But I can DEFINITELY feel the IE is slower.

Since I don't use IE much, I can't comment on security, but from the posts here, it looks like that's a big one too.

I'ma point out that the first two links were from a 2004 event.

But yeah, IE doesn't have stuff like the WOT addon that warns users of bad sites. And probably many more. Not too familiar with IE.

Guess the general consensus is: ANYTHING but IE

I know they're from 2004. I posted them on purpose just to show that after 6 years Internet Explorer 8 still suffers from the same poor security and unimaginable security holes that apply for all versions (6,7 and 8 ).... lol ain't that silly?

Opera is great. Probably the most underrated browser out there.

Oh I SEE! Hahaha, that IS (wow I feel slow)

I guess when your browser comes bundles with most of the computers sold in the world and with so few people even bothering to look up other browsers, you just don't need to improve. :<

Sadly, yes... that seems to be Microsoft's philosophy towards web browsing...
However that's changing drastically already specially since Anti-trust laws violations by Microsoft already earned us this little windows update:

Firefox plus the few speed up tricks you can do to it.. However I have both Chrome and Firefox and I find that Chrome operates just that bit quicker.

I prefer chrome overall, while opera is much faster loading.

Also in terms of security chrome is much more secure.

Also chrome now has extensions and this makes it customisable to a reasonable level, not like firefox sure, but it's better than opera's widgets.
