im talking about his examples, i see new people level up in low belts all the time because it only takes a couple fights. its not because of the level of his opponent.
Conversely, I very rarely see low Belts Belt up on other low Belts.

Haha... one could attribute that to Low Belts usually being the ones who've just started playing. I'm pretty sure this doesn't happen, but, hey... you never know.

I... don't quite understand the logic in that. As low Belts have just started playing, they're going to win matches against other low Belts. But I see them Belting up more often on high Belt players.

Regardless, the whole thing is now really dubious.

When you are leveling up belts, chances are most of the people you fight are a higher rank than you. So when you level up, you most likely were fighting a person of higher rank on pure chance, a fairly high chance at that.

I take it that this is purely coincidential. One guess: You're the kind of player that slowly empties the servers for newbie players, with an exeption of those who are really eager, of course. You see the eager player leveling up when fighting someone who stayed because they pwn enough to avoid getting the crap kicked out of them while your around.

Too vague? Or does it make sense?
CMon - Yes, I do know what you mean, and perhaps there's some truth in that. However...
RbLcK - Yes, that's a very good point. If 80% of players have a higher Belt than you, then you'll obviously Belt up more often on them.

So...I don't understand this at all...

If i beat...umm tripstone and i won...what would happen

and i'm a 5th dan...

>.>
yeah i beat a lot of 4th dans and higher when im a black belt. it doesnt make a difference. ive beaten tripstone a couple of times. and i still need like 600 more qi for 2 dan
You get 1qi for every game you play, regardless of your opponent.
If you want to belt up ingame so it comes up with the "upgraded" message, you have to win. It has no effect on your Qi id the people you beat are of a high belt or a low belt.
