BirdFlu's global disaster action plan (most effective in the case of a zombie apocalypse):
1) Find a bus/coach/lorry (single decker for stability) and fill it full of as many supplies as I can find,
2) Pick up as many of the people I care about as I can, and tell them to bring supplies etc.
3) Drive to the container ship port about 50-60 miles from my home. Hijac a ship (preferably loaded full of food and with a water de-salinater)
4) Drive ship into secluded area of the ocean, and hide out there until the danger is gone. Send the occasional patrol out to get hold of supplies etc.
Foolproof, but in reality I'd probably just lock myself under the stairs.
