When you announce it, it could help if you just talk about inactivity rather than our other plans. If we announce our plans months before we carry them out, people would get annoying complaining about waiting or complaining about change. I was thinking of running it by the council, because we haven't finished going into the finer details.
The closer we get to messing with the clan system I think we need to be actively deleting shit clans. I made a list of 48 clans and counting that aren't in shape and are likely to be deleted, I'm not sure whether or not I should divulge this list as it's quite harsh, though. That and not yet complete.

Honestly, I'm okay with letting shitty clans lie until the new system pops into place. If they can rise to the challenge when given specific guidelines for how to stay a clan, then that's okay with me.

Not counting just plain fucking dead ones, of course.

I just realized this, but I will still annoy all of those who use their boards as wibbles.
You capitalized [spirit].

Anyways, we're not particularly spammy over there, at least.
Squad Squad Squad lead?
The standardization of Toribash Squad roles may have gone too far!

Spam wont count for shit with this new system. It's not just about how much you post, but more event orientated.

So that gives us a problem. If you have a clan that is very, very event orientated and rarely posts - enough for us to call them forum inactive - what do? Strip them of their boards, even though we've made them harder to obtain and something to earn, rather than buy?

EDIT:

I'm cool with that. I was only talking about the dead ones anyway for now.

I still feel like saying stuff about this. It was never the spam I was worried about and I loathe how so much is being classed as 'spam' (well at least when people make a huge deal of it). Somehow, it got to the point where most people thought that clans were about "being active"(posting lots).

It may take a few months, but people will eventually get a more balanced perspective. The last that I want to see happen is having people feel uncomfortable posting in their own clan boards, because of all the rules.

I just can't see that happening. If a clan did get to that point, they would probably still use their board to keep themselves up to date on the events they're doing.

The first paragraph confuses me, I'm just saying that spam won't be something we look at too hard when we're focusing on events and, well, a system which needs to be made. I'm not classifying anything or making a big deal out of it.

Nobody wants people to not post in their boards, but I think the whole "this is and this isn't spam" issue could be resolved by removing postcount in clan subforums. That way it doesn't particularly matter if somebody considers "one word story" threads spam or not, nothing's coming of it aside from the amusement of the clan - which is hardily an issue. Though I could argue that spam isn't a big enough reason to remove post counts from clan boards because post count is absolutely pointless anyway, and it's not about posts as opposed to a general display of competence and maturity which we'd all like to see from the community.

The latter is fine, so long as you're sure. I can see it happening. You look at some clans inactive on the forum now but very active ingame. The new system may not change that at all.
