No, I doubt this will happen. As far as I'm concerned the whole "2012" Conspiracy, is nothing but, well a conspiracy. Just because the Mayans didn't continue there calender doesn't mean the world will end, maybe the Mayans were just like "Wow, we went on for thousands of years, I'm tired of writing this crap, we probably won't even live to seen the apocalypse." Though I do believe something is bound to happen, whether it's a supernova, a giant meteor (such as wormwood), or even a solar flare such as described. Though I doubt a solar flare would've been predicted. And for one, I don't believe a solar flare can activate a super volcano. A more common possibility is that Earths magnetic field would go weak the a solar flare would completely demolish our atmosphere, causing us to suffocate from lack of oxygen, and expose us to the radiation and heat of the sun. Another possibility is that we'll just simply destroy ourselves, with the corruption and greed there is today the world could initiate a nuclear holocaust and we as a race could be destroyed completely.
