seems like it helps with seek times but with file transfers it doesn't really seem that important anymore with certain hdd's anyway

WOW! U've got great spec already. What about perfect gaming graphics with change that GTX580 with Quad SLI GTX590. Upgrade ur PSU to 1500watt too.. for HDD, it's better to put Solid State Drive for OS [RAID0] and that Barracuda for games. Dont forget to exchange ur P8P67 motherboard to B3 Revision due to the Intel SandyBridge Chipset Issue.
