That's completely wrong. You're probably thinking of graf_chokolo (iirc that's how you spell his name) who was sued for 1 million euros, and had his house raided twice. He has nothing to do with this. The guy that did do this is selling the database.
It's also notable the god damn department of homeland security is investigating this as an "act of terrorism".

let me see, if ever a group of hackers decided to raid the xbox network it would probably not be any difference (maybe except that they would inform about it earlier)

back ontopic: i find it amazing that 1 guy managed to hack the whole system, sony really needs to step up their security, especially seeing the amount of people with credit card details stored with them. so far this is sounding pretty harmless but i hope they take measures so that no one else decides to hack in and copy everyones credit card details and rip off millions.
