I used to hear footsteps going up and down the stairs from 3am - 4am when everybody was asleep at my cousin's house. Other people in the house used to see random shadows all the time too, though I wouldn't call it a ghost. They're more than likely just coincidences.

I remember this one time-
Right, so Im in my friends house, we go to bed late,The room we slept in was across the bathroom door,we hear the bathroom door banging, (boom boom boom)THe our door creaks,So my mum gets pissed and goes to close the bathroom door, and she was down the corridor, so we hear footsteps coming towards our door, we hear a door slam,then suddenly there is a thunder storm, LIGHTING< and in the milli second that the room lights up from the lightning,we see the curtains waving like a flag. Both of us are too scared to go turn on the lights, cause thats where the door is.
We didn't know it was my mum walking or the window was open, till we had pissed our pants and gotten up the next morning.
