This reminds me of the Mac vs. PC debates...

Each platform has their own benefits. Android is more open source, and is therefore more versatile. The drawback of that is simply that it isn't as stable as iOS and is more prone to malware (look at the recent Android malware history for the past year). It's more customizable, and can be used for everyday activities to data-heavy programs from different companies. It isn't locked down.

iOS is simply a walled garden type platform. You can't install it on other phones, but that's why it's better in terms of overall quality. The software was programmed for the hardware, and is able to take better advantage of the resources available to it. For example, Android handsets could use only 69% of a 1 GHz Snapdragon MSM8655 efficiently (the rest couldn't be utilized due to various reasons including maintaining the operating system in the first place, and other miscellaneous tasks) while an iOS device running on Apple's A4 chip can utilize over 80% of the processing power that's available. By doing so, Apple can pull out more performance out of an otherwise equivalent spec-on-paper hardware.

As for hardware quality, Apple is currently at the top. Their policy for not letting the end-user have any access to the internals of the phone (including the battery) allows them to place higher quality materials in a more compressed form factor. It helps each part of the structure of the phone reinforce each other. When you drop an Android phone, much of the time the screen cracks AND the battery/other components fall out or get damaged. With Apple, it's no better since the screen and the back both crack (made out of glass, eh?).

Remember that the specs sheet doesn't say everything. It's the final result and execution that matters. If this were a talk about two weapons, one could blow up 100 square miles in 5 seconds while the other would only be able to do that to 25 square miles in the same amount of time. The thing is, if the final execution sucks the 100 sq. mile-on-spec-sheet weapon would jam when you need it to work. That was an analogy, don't judge me. >.>

Andriod is not a "Free Software" because otherwise so is iOS you dumbass.

Firstly, fuck you. You walk in here and say "don't explain things, just post 1 word" and then you accuse me of bullshitting and call me a dumbass?

Android ISfree. In fact the source has been released under the Apache License, which is a free license. Not only is it free to use, it is free to look at the source code and edit it yourself.

iOS is NOT free, you cannot even buy iOS. It is illegal to use iOS on any device that Apple does not sell with iOS pre-installed. This is not a matter of opinion. iOS is available only on 'iPhones", and even with that said, only the newer iPhones can run the newer iOS versions.

Since you were such a dick encouraging people to break the rules and flaming me, I will now refute every post you have made in this thread, and any other thread I see you post in.

Also I heard that people can make better applications for the andriod? If so I might start working on one with a group that are interested :P

Android has supported Flash since version 2.2, which was released more than a year ago.

Android's market is far superior to iOS's, and the hardware of Android phones is far better, and Google have released the source for Android and give practically complete control of the phone to the dev, so yes people can make better applications.

And not only that, their looking after the all their models of phone with the latest updates available from Andriod.

So, who do you think are better?
Apple or Andriod?
You must post a reason behind it and by the end of the month I'll tally up who thinks who is better and their will be declared a winner.

I am on Andriods side because they have phones which support tethering (without jail breaking)

Android phones are far superior to the iPhone 4. Even if you take a quick glance at the two you will see that the AMOLED displays used in Samsung phones is inifnitely better than the retina display, the battery life in the Android counterparts is way better, and even looking at the raw stats you can see that it is common for Android phones to be far more powerful.

Tethering is a practically useless feature unless you want to be gimped badly, that said, iPhones support it.
Also, you cannot "jailbreak" an Android phone, it makes no sense. The 'equivalent' (even though it really is not equivalent) to 'jailbreaking' for Android is 'rooting'. Though it does not do the same thing at all.

Also, who the fuck starts an opinion thread and then crys about people being biased? I gave you a completely unbiased assessment with full explanation and you are a complete dick about it, I was one of the few unbiased people in the thread.
Cool Story Bro
If your going to do that forever to me I take it you will get banned repeatedly. If you want me to believe something don't just say it and get evidence. I doubt anyone believed you tbh.
Oh my god, the internet is producing argumentative phrases! I am amused by this.

Joke aside, i prefer Android. Although i've never used an iPhone, i do know that the Android market is far less regulated than the Apple market. I want to decide which apps i get for my phone, not some big-ass company. Also, Flash compatibility. It's nice.

Maybe adapting with android first, install some important apps like file explorer, then you could to the next stage...
There is no jailbreaking on Droid bro
Its something like root that give you admin powers on your droid that gives you additional thing that normal user cant do...

Im holding a Desire S now on...so far so good...
