definitely, i love my ps3 mine cost me $350 for the 320gb playstation move bundle. i also have a gaming pc though. the ps3 would be a better alternative for gaming, either that or a 360 if you prefer xbox but i still dont like the idea of paying for live... if you absolutely need a laptop or something though you can get a decent one for $500 but i still at that point suggest as others have, a custom built desktop.
