Something i'd like to know too.
The inherant problem with toribash is the learning curve.
When you start it's looks impossible, and replays like the default replays look like a herculean task.
This means lots of people simply give up before it gets really fun.
I also agree and remember with that when I started up Toribash and watched the replays, I almost gave up. It's very demoralizing to start up the game if you're new and see these awesome works by very skilled players.
I guess the idea behind it is to encourage and give the new players something to aspire to but I don't think it does that very effectively.
It could be fixed by including replays by various users of different skill levels and replays at various stages in a users Toribash experience. In that way, new users will feel like they're doing alright and won't just get crushed down.
